Hi, my name is
Renee P. I am 87 years old and live in Creve Coeur, Missouri. I
never thought that I would ever be involved in a personal injury
lawsuit. But, that changed in December of 2000.
I decided to have my hair styled at a local shop. I was sitting
in the chair having my hair cut when the stylist told me to get
up and walk over to the hair dryers. What I didn’t know was that
the stylist had left a power cord right by my feet. When I tried
to walk toward the dryer, I tripped on the cord and broke my
right hip.
I spent the next three months confined to a bed before I could
begin a year of physical therapy. I knew from the beginning that
I was going to need a good personal injury lawyer if I was going
to be able to get the insurance company to take responsibility
for my fall.
I called Brown and Crouppen because I had seen them on
television. I figured if they can afford to put all of those
commercials on the television they must have helped a lot of
people.
Just as my attorney predicted, the insurance company tried to
get off the hook by arguing that the fall was my fault. The man
from the insurance company said that I should have seen the
cord. I’m sorry but I am an 87-year-old woman, the cord was not
there when I sat down in the chair, then they put that apron
around me, I couldn’t see anything around my feet.
But my attorney did not give up. He kept pounding away until he
got the insurance company to give in. In the end, I received
enough money to pay all of my medical and legal expenses and
enough left over to make the rest of my life a lot more
enjoyable.
